WHO ARE THE HALLS OF RIDICULOUS?

THE HALLS OF RIDICULOUS bring a breath of fresh air to the UK comedy scene, combining lightning-fast improvised comedy with high-octane character sketches. But here's the twist - every bit of hilarity is conjured up on the spot, fueled by the audience's suggestions, ideas, and occasionally, their wonderfully weird imaginations.

​Featuring Chris Lumb (BBC Three', ITV2) and Phil Allan-Smith (BBC One, CBBC'), The Halls of Ridiculous grace stages across the UK, from renowned comedy clubs to their very own scratch night in Otley, West Yorkshire, where emerging talents showcase their stand-up acts and fresh material.

​In 2022, their Edinburgh Show 'The Halls of Ridiculous' earned a stellar 5-star review from EdFringe Review, hailed as 'a euphoric experience, the best show of the Fringe'. Riding high on this success, they went on to sell out shows at the 2022, 2023, & 2024 Leicester Comedy Festival.

Their comedic prowess was recognised in 2023 when they clinched the 'Best Alternative Act' title at The Yorkshire Comedy Awards and secured the Southport Comedy Awards' prestigious 'New Comedian of The Year Award'.

​​In 2024 they were asked to support TV comedian Russell Kane on his 'Hyperactive' nationwide tour - playing some of the UK's biggest theatres. This then continued into 2025. Russell even booked the boys to play his own child's school fundraiser along with some other big name acts.

​Also in 2025, The Halls of Ridiculous proudly took their 'Unseen Scenes' show to the first ever 'Rik Mayall Comedy Festival' and were selected to be the first show to perform at the first ever 'Rochdale Comedy Festival'. The icing on the cake was back in July when they were shortlisted for the prestigious 'BBC New Comedy Award'.

​But that's not all - these versatile comedians also entertain audiences aboard various cruise ships, from Mexico to Hawaii, keeping it clean and family-friendly when required.
Phil and Chris even bring their brand of comedy to kids' shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and many other festivals and family fun days.
